Hi,

The doc says that Stripe event are unique. However, does the uniqueness apply within a given Stripe account (so you guarantee that all MY customers have a unique id), but is the uniqueness is also guaranteed across ALL Stripe customers (so if I have several customers I get data from Stripe Connect, can I assume everything will be unique?)

Thanks!

Hi Michael,

Yes, but with a caveat:
* plans and coupons have user-specified ids, that are definitely not globally unique
* 2+ years ago we supported user-specified customer ids, and a few merchants are still gated into this and make use of it.  While there aren't many collisions in practice, it is definitely possible.

For all other objects, ids should be globally unique. Hope that helps.

Jim
