Hello,

I just tried the `email` option of Stripe Checkout and I see that the dialog opens showing the specified email but... it can't be edited.

I already have an email from the user, and I want to prefill it for his convenience, but... what if the user wants to use an email different than the one used to sign up to my service?

Cheers,
Xavi

Hey Xavi,
I’d be a bit confused as to why a user would want to change the email address just for checkout.

The only reason I could think of is if they wanted to take advantage of the Remember Me feature (the email they signed up with isn’t the one registered with Remember Me).

The email that receipts get to are what you pass into the Create Customer api, which is normally the email address that a user would have registered on your site, that normally isn’t grabbed from checkout.

I would say that's a sufficient reason to allow the editing the email.

Besides, I think that would improve the UX because it would give more control to the user, and without making the form more complex (IMO).

Hi Xavi,

Unfortunately that's not something we support at the moment. We
actually tried it in an earlier version of Checkout and found that
quite a few people were confused by customers using different emails.
It's something we've thought about supporting again but we haven't
found the right combination of behaviors to make it work for everyone.

Sorry!
