Until today we've been using Second Life's Community Standards as the Code of Conduct on Github and for development spaces. This has been awkward because the language on the SL Community Standards pertains to using Second Life specifically, and not about engaging on Github, Discord, etc.

We've now adopted a modified version of Blender's short community guidelines for all development-related communication channels. You can see the new document here.

These new rules are concise and embody good intent without being prescriptive. Before you reach any conclusion, please review the new document. I understand this area is fraught with feelings about rules being political, but in this case the guidelines are common sense recommendations about behaving professionally when engaging in a professional environment.

It is also important to note that the rules apply both ways! The intention here is to foster high quality communication and fix the fact that prior guidelines were about the Second Life service and not development communication channels.

I quite like Blender's community guidelines, it doesn't have the "baggage" that others tend to have, and is more so "Just be nice to each other". Glad to see that of the choices this one was picked. :)
Saying this as I was one of the original people who was upset over the original CoC choice, and that from what I have witnessed in the Blender community, it has only been used to foster a friendly and positive environment.
