Hi P4 enthusiasts,

I need to install a P4 environment (P4, bmv2, mininet etc.) on CentOS. Is there a script or guide in the the P4 guide repo I could use to install them? Or can I just use the instructions for Ubuntu 20.04?

Many thanks,
Divyansh.

The scripts in my p4-guide repository have only been tested on the operating systems and versions that are checked when you run them.  For the install-p4dev-v6.sh script, that is currently Ubuntu 20.04, 22.04, and Fedora 35.

I have NEVER tested it on CentOS.  My best guess is that it will fail in some way, even if you change the scripts to disable the operating system checks near the beginning.  If it ain't tested to work, it would be fantastically lucky if it did already happen to work on a different Linux distribution, unless it is nearly identical to another tested Linux distribution.
