to p4-announce
Dear P4 Community,

I'm writing to announce the results of the recent elections for two seats on the P4 Technical Steering Team, currently held by Andy Fingerhut (Intel) and Robert Soulé (Yale).

The TST is responsible for all technical decisions having to do with the P4 project, including setting technical directions and priorities, creating and disbanding working groups, and appointing working group chairs. Seats on the TST are filled by an open election among the voting members, which include the P4 Chief Architect, Advisory Board members, TST members, project owners, and code contributors who have submitted and had at least one patch set in the past twelve (12) months accepted.

I'm pleased to announce that Andy Fingerhut (Intel) and Fabian Ruffy (NYU) have been elected to two-year terms on the TST. Brief bios for Andy and Fabian are below. Please join me in welcoming them to the TST, and in thanking Robert Soulé for his past service.

Brief bios for Andy and Fabian are as follows:

Andy Fingerhut has three decades of experience in the computer networking industry, working primarily on hardware and low level control software for large scale switch fabrics, network processors, and intrusion detection techniques. He has served as the co-chair of the P4.org architecture working group since 2018. He is a Principal Engineer at Intel Corporation working on programmable switches and NICs, enabling new data plane features and how to expose them in the P4 programming language.

Fabian Ruffy is a PhD at New York University where he works with Anirudh Sivaraman in the area of data center networking. Since 2021 he has also been part of Intel's P4 compilers and tools team. Fabian has actively contributed to the P4 compiler since 2018. He has published several papers promoting the value of the P4 language at OSDI, HotCloud, HotNets, the P4 workshop, and Linux Plumbers. He is also a regular attendee of the P4 language design working group.

Best wishes,
-N

(as P4 Chief Architect)
