Hello,

As far as I know, we did not receive any answer on mtt-users mailing list.
Does anyone have the information we are looking for?

Thanks,

Objet: Access to the Open MPI tests repository and question about MTT

Hello,

Following this discussion [https://www.mail-archive.com/de...@lists.open-mpi.org//msg21553.html] about integrating a new PML and OSC for our external communication component, we have been trying MTT. We successfully set up the python client on our clusters to build and run our installation of Open MPI, run the included hello world sample ini file, and run some OSU benchmarks through MTT. We would like to have access to the https://github.com/open-mpi/ompi-tests repository to further validate our developments before opening the relevant PRs.

We also have a question regarding the reporting of results to the central MTT database. What kind of metrics, beside the "successes" and "fails", are sent and stored? More specifically, because sensitive data might be involved, are performance metrics such as latency or bandwidth recorded?

Thanks.

Kind regards,

So sorry on the delayed answers on this.

For access to the ompi-tests repo, sure — send me your Github ID.  Also be sure to checkout ompi-tests-public.

As for MTT, it is primarily used for success / fail kind of tests.  We do record the stdout / stderr of the tests that were run.

We do have a mode to upload and store latency and bandwidth numbers, but it's barely used — it required a specific plugin to MTT that was back in the original MTT Perl client; I don't know if the new-generation MTT Python client even supports it.

Other than that, we're not really tracking other metrics via MTT.
