NDEQ Division of Water Resources, Wetland Science and Outreach Team (aka NCwetlands.org) is seeking a Wetland Science and Outreach Intern to assist staff with developing public facing content for communicating project rationale and results of past and present scientific research studies to residents of North Carolina. 

The intern will be developing research summaries, producing public-facing materials highlighting research study deliverables like Story Maps, spatial visualization and webpage management; representing the wetland program at regional events; and participating in field data collection and management efforts as needed.

Academic Majors Desired:  Applied environmental sciences and communications focused majors like biology, ecology, environmental science, environmental engineering, geospatial analytics, environmental education, communications, journalism, and/or public policy.

2026 State of North Carolina Internship Period: Monday, May 18 – Friday, July 24, 2026
