Good morning,
I wanted to share three new funding opportunities from the USGS in partnership with the National Institutes of Water Resources (NIWR). These three opportunities are available as part of the annual request for proposals under the USGS National Competitive Grants Program. This year the three opportunities are:
104g (general)
104g (Aquatic Invasive Species)
104g (PFAS)
Any investigator at an institution of higher learning is eligible to apply for these grants with research that focuses on priorities of regional and national importance. Applications must be submitted through the Water Resources Research Institute (WRRI) in their State or Territory (please reach out to us early if you are considering applying).
WRRIs from across the US are organizing a joint webinar (available here, Meeting ID: 292 921 560 379 2, Passcode: hh7Cb9Up) on August 21st, 2025, at 1pm Central Time that focuses on the National Competitive Grants RFPs. We will discuss the full proposal process and funding priorities and include an opportunity for researchers to ask questions. In addition, researchers will be able to identify potential collaborators in topic specific breakouts.
Please join the webinar if you are considering applying to this funding opportunity.
Thanks!
Kaitlin
