Truffle enthusiasts:

If you are interested in learning how to examine your root tips for Tuber colonization, then come to the 2025 Truffle Microscopy Workshop in Raleigh, NC on Saturday, October 18, 2025! 

What you will learn:

  • How to clean, prepare, and examine roots
  • Dissecting microscope training
  • Identification of Tuber spp. vs. ECM vs. Non-colonized roots
  • Using FTA cards to stabilize DNA for lab analysis
  • Extension resources available to you
  • And, bring your own root tips!
When: Saturday, October 18, 2025. 9AM to 4:30PM
Where: Gardner Hall, Room 1418, NC State University, Raleigh, NC
Refreshments: Coffee, pastries, and lunch all included in registration
Cost: $250 per person, early bird; $300 per person after Sept. 1
