I would like to bring this to your attention.
I got the error "Couldn't load XPCOM" after Seamonkey updated to 2.53.17.
I run a Windows 11 machine with the following spec:
Device name Spinner
Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-8550U CPU @ 1.80GHz 1.99 GHz
Installed RAM 8.00 GB
Device ID AD6032F5-1552-483B-BEEE-55CF00E22D84
Product ID 00325-96241-13341-AAOEM
System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor
Pen and touch Pen and touch support with 10 touch points
Edition Windows 11 Home
Version 22H2
Installed on 29/09/2022
OS build 22621.1992
Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.22644.1000.0
I initially used a restore point to get myself up and running as I
didn't know what the cause was. I followed by updating Seamonkey from
2.53.16 to 2.53.17 and the error came back.
I eventually downgraded to 2.53.16 and all appears to be well. I have
now disabled automatic updates.
I guess there is some incompatibility with my machine and v. 2.53.17 so
I will see what 2.53.18 brings.
Seamonkey is fantastic and I can't be without it. Thank you for a great
piece of software.
