I found the "old" Lightning add-on and installed that for the tasks and
calendars but also need to connect with my address book which is on my
own server and accessible with WebDav.
--------
SeaMonkey is a complete integrated Internet Suite, a la Mozilla_Internet_Suite.All user stuff is in your hidden profile at /home/"you"/.mozilla/seamonkey/!!!!!.default/ ~ e.g. Add-ons are in ./extensions
SM already comes with its own preinstalled component apps ~ emailclient,Chat,Composer,Address_Book, and calendar (Lightning 6.2.20 in your case), so you should probably uninstall the lightning you overwrote it with.
SeaMonkey Browser window|Tools|Add-ons_Manager| Lightning (if it says 6.2.20 and doesn't have a "remove" button, then you are fine - it has the proper Lightning installed for that SM-2.53.20 edition).
If the version is something else, then use the remove button to remove it.
You may have to manually remove it from your local profile, and/or reinstall SeaMonkey if your add-on has removed the inbuilt compatible Lightning 6.2.20.
------
Now for my questions:
- It seems I need to find an add-on to connect with my address book. Which add-on should I install?
------
Hopefully, None! The small envelope icon on the bottom left opens you email client. The other icons open similar preinstalled component apps.,
then click top toolbar menu item: Tools | Import | which opens a wizard which hopefully will assist you to import what you wish to.
The data will be saved in your local home .mozilla/seamonkey/!!!.default/profile
--------
- Is there a way of adding all 70+ task lists/calendars, all
residing on the same server, in one fell swoop? On TB I had to add one
at a time which is /very/ tedious.
--------
Probably the same in SM email, as it is derived from TB. I've not used the wizard, so I'm only showing you what is there - I'm unsure how effective it is.I import my calendars one-at-a-time.
-----------
- I also need to clone the /exact/ setup for everything -
/excluding/ the actual emails, to additional computers of mine. How
should I do that while /not/ copying the actual emails? By the way, I am
using MailDir email storage format.
-------
SM no longer handles cross platform storage very well, so the easiest way to clone the local user's Home profile, is to copy the entire local desktop's /Home/user/.mozilla/seamonkey/!!!!!.default profile - and install it to the external PCs.
Lately, users have been having trouble with cross-platform storage sites - possibly due to the different folder devices and formats that each OS uses. More detailed info (more knowledgeable users) are at the acs.seamonkey newsgroup.
---------
- I know SM uses different naming convention for the individual
emails in the MailDir structure. Is there anyway I can reconcile old
emails in MailDir structure I have from neomutt and/or downloaded by
isync with this new installation of SM?
--------------
Sorry I can't help further.
