Seamonkey unresponsive in Ubuntu 22.04

Hello, there. Has anybody memory trouble using Seamonkey for Linux with
Ubuntu 22.04?

My Seamonkey (2.53.21) uses a lot of RAM (+1 GB) because I got lots of
email accounts with lots of folders and hundreds of thousands of
messages. Previously I had increasingly frequent "not responding" popup
messages, until I added more RAM to my desktop computer.

But now that I upgraded to Ubuntu 22.04 LTS, this kind of messages are
back and even more frequently!

Does Ubuntu 22.04 manage memory worse than 20.04? Or what's the problem?

Could it be specific to Seamonkey? Does it work worse under Ubuntu 22.04???

Any hint would be appreciated. Thanks!
