Difference between DIR and BTRFS

Hello, I'm reading this documentacion page:
https://linuxcontainers.org/incus/docs/main/reference/storage_drivers/#storage-optimized-volume-transfer

And I don't understand if DIRECTORY storage driver applies only to EXT4
filesystem or also to other underlying filesystems (such as BTRFS).

It seems to be some confusing classification in documentartion.

I see Ext2/Ext3/Ext4 filesystems aren't compatible with "copy on write".

Anyway, I think that page should put side by side filesystems instead of
meshing Incus storage drivers with filesystems.
