Hello,

I'm very excited to announce the release of Incus 0.1!

Incus is a community led fork of Canonical LXD.
In this version, it is roughly equivalent to LXD 5.18.

With Incus, you can easily create and manage both containers and
virtual-machines on a standalone system or a cluster of machines.
It provides a variety of storage and networking options with the goal to feel
like you're interacting with a cloud, but all locally.

This initial release primarily focuses on renaming everything, re-organizing
the code base, removing unused/legacy features and making a number of CLI and
API changes that couldn't be done in LXD due to backward compatibility
constraints. From this point on, Incus will keep tracking LXD for any useful
features and bug fixes but will also start adding new features of its own which
may or may not be picked up by LXD.

You can give Incus a try online:

And support is done through our community forum:

Enjoy!
