Support for PointType values

I'm using Azure Databricks running Spark 2.3 and Scala 2.11. I'm trying to use the spark-cassandra-connector to read/write geospatial data, specifically PointType. I have a Cassandra table populated with PointType data but get the following error when reading the table in Spark:

java.util.NoSuchElementException: key not found: 'org.apache.cassandra.db.marshal.PointType'

Does the spark-cassandra-connector support geospatial types?

Hi Francis

You need to use DataStax version of the Spark Connector that is available as part of DSE (per license you can use it only with DSE).

You can access from external Spark (so-called BYOS): https://docs.datastax.com/en/dse/6.0/dse-dev/datastax_enterprise/spark/byosIntro.html

P.S. But running on DSE Analytics could be more optimized in some cases...
