The Policy Section in the California Department of Public Health's (CDPH) Office of Policy and Planning (OPP) is seeking a Health Policy Analyst (Associate Governmental Program Analyst / AGPA) to support the Policy Section team with administrative and project management tasks. Additionally, this position will support research and analysis on public health issues to advance public health policy and emerging issues efforts, such as the development of a policy agenda and implementation of collective action initiatives.

The mission of the OPP is to advance transformative policy and systems change that will promote state and community health improvement through prevention, equity, and collective action. The OPP promotes public health policy priorities and supports CDPH capabilities for community health improvement, policy development, research and analysis, integrated planning, decision intelligence, lean transformation, and grants management.

The position pays $5,518 per month ($66,216 annually) for candidates new to State service, increasing to $6,907 per month ($82,884 annually) within five years upon satisfactory performance. Additional raises may be negotiated by the union. State benefits are excellent including a defined-benefit pension. This is a telework position, with occasional travel required to Sacramento. Candidates must reside in California by the start of employment.
