About Community Forward

Community Forward is transforming how women and vulnerable adults experience homeless services in San Francisco. For over 45 years, we’ve championed compassionate, community-based care for those often overlooked—especially women, older adults, and people facing severe medical or mental health challenges. We run the city’s only 24/7 drop-in center for women experiencing homelessness and offer a full spectrum of services including gender-specific recovery programs, medical respite, transitional housing, and permanent supportive housing. Our person-centered approach centers dignity, empowerment, and healing. Our team reflects the communities we serve—many with lived experience of homelessness. We also lead systems change, advancing gender-focused policy locally and beyond.

As Vice President of Client Services, you’ll lead and oversee Community Forward’s non-clinical programs—from our women’s drop-in center to transitional and permanent housing. You’ll guide program strategy, supervise a team of Program Directors, and ensure we continue delivering high-quality, trauma-informed care rooted in dignity and equity.

You’ll be a vital member of the executive team, turning vision into action and helping shape the future of gender-responsive homeless services in San Francisco.

The Permanent Housing Advanced Clinical Services (PHACS) program brings trauma-informed, wrap-around mental health and behavioral health support to permanent supportive housing sites across San Francisco. These services are tailored for individuals with high-acuity needs—supporting their mental wellness as they rebuild their lives in stable housing.

As the Director of Clinical Services, you’ll lead a dedicated clinical team working at the intersection of housing, mental health, and social justice. You’ll guide daily operations, nurture a thriving team culture, and ensure Community Forward continues delivering compassionate, evidence-based care
