Dear Hiring Committee,

My name is Eduardo “Eddy” Pagan, and I am excited to apply for the Manager, Scholar Support position in the Youth Leadership & Scholarship program at SchoolHouse Connection. With over a decade of experience providing intensive support to underserved youth, including young people experiencing housing instability and trauma, I am passionate about helping students navigate higher education and build brighter futures.

During my time leading the Young Adult Access Center at Open Sky Community Services, I provided one-on-one guidance to young adults overcoming barriers such as homelessness, justice system involvement, and mental health challenges. I helped dozens of youth enroll in college, secure employment, and access essential services like housing and healthcare. Many have reached back out to me years later to share their continued successes, which demonstrates the lasting trust I build with those I serve.

Through my current and past roles at Cityblock Health and as a board member with Pleasant Street Neighborhood Network Center, I have coordinated case management and support services for diverse populations, including organizing travel, facilitating group meetings, and tracking detailed records of client interactions to inform program improvements. My experience leading community events and educational workshops, as well as my bilingual skills in English and Spanish, equip me to connect effectively with scholars from varied backgrounds.

I am skilled at working in virtual environments, using platforms like Zoom, Google Workspace, and Slack to deliver engaging group sessions and maintain timely communication with clients and colleagues. I am also committed to trauma-informed practices and maintaining the highest ethical standards in all aspects of my work.

I am inspired by SchoolHouse Connection’s mission to overcome homelessness through education, and I would welcome the opportunity to bring my dedication, cultural responsiveness, and proven ability to support youth to your impactful work. Thank you for considering my application. I look forward to the possibility of discussing how my experience can contribute to the success of the Youth Leadership & Scholarship program. Please find my resume attached.
