Black Girls Mental Health Collective (BGMHC) is a progressive mental health practice dedicated to providing culturally attuned, evidence-based care for Black women, with a special focus on perinatal mental health. Our mission is to empower and support women on their mental health journeys, particularly those navigating the challenges of pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum life.
Position Overview
We are seeking pre-licensed clinicians (AMFT, ACSW) who are passionate about perinatal mental health and eager to make a meaningful impact. In this role, you’ll deliver high-quality virtual therapy and group programming while helping shape innovative services that empower Black women and birthing people.
Ideal candidates will have completed at least 1,500 of the required 3,000 clinical hours and are actively working toward licensure. You’ll maintain a full clinical caseload, facilitate support groups and psychoeducational courses, and collaborate within an interdisciplinary team committed to equitable, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive care.
Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Care
All clinicians are expected to maintain a monthly productivity rate of 65–70% based on client-facing hours. This generally translates to seeing approximately 25 to 30 clients per week.
Conduct outreach to prospective clients on an ongoing basis. This includes clients who find us via directory listings, our website, and/or referred via community partners.
Offer free 15-minute consultations for prospective clients as requested.
Provide high-quality virtual therapy services with a focus on culturally competent and perinatal mental health care.
Complete timely and accurate documentation, treatment plans, and client records.
Participate in clinical supervision and team consultation as needed.
Attend clinical and/or community based meetings as needed.
Administrative & Collaborative Support
Benefit from dedicated billing and scheduling support.
Leverage BGMHC’s established marketing and referral pipelines to sustain a robust caseload.
Uphold HIPAA, CMIA, and organizational confidentiality standards.
Flexible Paid Time Off (PTO):

Referral pipelines provided for caseload stability
AMFT or ACSW in California.
Minimum 2 years post-licensure clinical experience (telehealth experience a plus).
Demonstrated expertise in perinatal or reproductive mental health.
Commitment to culturally responsive, trauma-informed, and evidence-based care for Black women.
Solid working knowledge of HIPAA and electronic health record documentation.
PMH-C certification or interest in pursuing perinatal specialization.
Previous group therapy or course facilitation experience.
Familiarity with insurance-based outpatient practice environments.
