Hello all my Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship-ers*,

Although nothing is happening this week, we wanted to send out an email to look forward to what's going to happen when we get back. If you're basking on the beach or just completely unproductive, and you don't want to think about going back to school, feel free to ignore this email. We'll be resuming the weekly email format on Sunday.

Reminder: Shadow a Math Major Volunteers

This is a reminder that the volunteer form for SAMM will be closed after tomorrow, March 30! I've said it before, but this is a great opportunity for anyone looking to get more involved with the math community and with MUSA. The only requirement to volunteer is that you are a declared or intended math/applied math major. Even freshmen can volunteer! It's something you can put on your resume to prove that you talk to people!

Reminder: Logo Submissions

I realize that many of you are traveling for spring break and probably don't have access to drawing tools or even a computer, so we've decided to extend the deadline until Monday, April 2. After Monday, we'll look at all the submissions and decide which one works the best for our organization. We've received quite a few awesome submissions already! To reiterate, the winner will receive a free MUSA hoodie or T-shirt (or something of equitable value). We'll be featuring the logo on our emails, on our website, and on the flyers posted around Evans. Again, this is also something cool (wow! graphic design!) to put on your resume. Just email us your submission!

MSRI Trip

Thank you to those who filled out our survey! The tentative date is... Thursday, April 5th. We still need to finalize the details, so we'll be sending more info about the trip later.

Looking Forward to April

Now, I know what you're thinking. No Thursday event right before spring break? We must've run out of ideas, or we might as well rename ourselves the Board Game Student Association. Well, fervent MUSA member, we have planned a lot to happen during April and May. Here's a brief summary of the coming times:

April 5th MSRI Trip

April 19th Baseball Math 

April 20th Shadow a Math Major

April 21th Cal Day

April 25th Alumni Panel

April 26th Student-Faculty Dinner

Note that these events are still tentative and subject to change. More information will be coming as we approach them!
