Hi all,
There were no events today in observance of today's holiday. Here are your weekly announcements:
MUSA Office Temporarily Closed
Due to an error with the department custodians, our door's lock was changed unexpectedly, which means that none of us can get into the office. Unfortunately, the office will be temporarily closed until we can get this issue fixed. Hopefully this should be resolved by the end of this week.
Remembering Jonathan Gleason
For those who don't know, a graduate student instructor, Jonathan Gleason, recently passed away. He was at Berkeley since 2013, and loved to teach linear algebra and analysis. In fact, he was writing some textbooks about these subjects. He also was really open, genuine, and very dedicated to his students. I have been asked to share information regarding memorial events, as his family would greatly appreciate any support the math community can give them. The first is a Candlelight Vigil, which will be held Wednesday, February 21 at 7pm at Lower Sproul Plaza. The Facebook event can be found
here. The second is a memorial event happening Wednesday, February 28 at 3:30pm in 1015 Evans.
Board Game Night: Thursday, February 22, 6pm (1015 Evans)
Come enjoy a variety of different games at our classic board game night! Meet up with friends and/or enemies, or make new ones. Snacks will be provided.
