Hi Jacobs community,

As we hope you have seen, there is currently a campus-wide shelter-in-place alert. Please go inside and move away from doors and windows. If you are not on campus, please stay away from the area.

The following activities in Jacobs Hall are canceled for the remainder of today:
  • In-person instruction
  • Co-curricular activities (including club and decal meetings, events)
  • Jacobs makerspace
  • JPS pickup window
Jacobs Hall will adhere to campus safety guidelines and keep you updated as we get more information. You can also sign up for WarnMe alerts at https://warnme.berkeley.edu/. Please don't hesitate to contact Jacobs faculty or staff if you have questions or concerns.

Stay safe,

Jacobs / MDes staff

COVID-19 updates:
  • Currently, I have a flex work schedule. My bCal shows the days I am working from home; if the day is unmarked, it means I am working on campus at 103 Jacobs Hall.
  • Updates and support for Berkeley students can be found here

Hi all,

Update from UCB WarnMe: "The shelter in place has been lifted. Please leave the campus in a safe and orderly way via the closest route available. UCPD has determined based upon its investigation that it is appropriate to end the shelter in place. Buildings will remain locked."

Please leave Jacobs Hall (if you are there) and plan to take everything you need with you, as campus buildings will remain closed. Jacobs Hall will remain closed for the rest of the day, as described in the prior email.

Best,

Jacobs / MDes team

Hello again Jacobs students,

We hope that you are all safe and taking care of yourselves following today's events on campus.

Though the shelter in place warning was lifted this afternoon, Jacobs Hall remains closed to course and co-curricular activities for the rest of today.

That said, we are planning to resume normal operations and hours tomorrow (Friday 4/22), including in-person instruction, makerspace activities, events, and student-run activities.

See you soon and take care,

Amy
