If you are having issues with submitting all of the required documents before the deadline, please contact tro...@berkeley.edu.

The list of required materials, plus some tips, are provided here. Please contact tro...@berkeley.edu for questions, especially if you are developing a new DeCal and want to discuss before preparing your full proposal.

Jacobs Project Support (JPS)

As mentioned last week, Jacobs Project Support (JPS) registration is now open for the summer session. You can find more information, including registration links, by going to our website. We’d like to highlight a few more things about the program for your attention:

  • Summer 2021 Need-Based Material & Subsidy Application is now available The Jacobs Institute will provide a need-based subsidy for students with financial needs, who wish to use Jacobs Project Support (JPS) this summer. This credit will provide up to $25 towards materials and shipping costs for the summer 2021 term. Students with financial need can apply to receive this subsidy and will be notified once their financial status has been verified. The subsidy will cover any applicable JPS materials and shipping costs incurred throughout Summer 2021. The application for this subsidy, which also describes eligibility criteria, is now available here and on the JPS website.
  • Summer 2021 Club Registration for JPS Student clubs will continue to have remote access to fabrication equipment via the Jacobs Project Support program over the summer. Club officers can apply for tier 3 JPS access for their members for summer 2021 via this form. In order for us to serve a greater number of clubs, there will be an initial limit of 10 registrations distributed per club. Club applications will be reviewed immediately and continue on a rolling basis until 200 JPS club memberships have been distributed in total.

Now Accepting Club & DeCal Recurring Space Requests for Fall 2021

Jacobs Hall provides meeting space for student clubs and teaching space for DeCals exploring human-centered design and emerging technology. The priority deadline for fall 2020 recurring meeting space requests is Friday, June 25, 2021; applications submitted after that date will be considered on a rolling basis. You can access the club meeting space and DeCal teaching space request forms via the following links:
