Attend Berkeley’s Largest Design Event:  The Jacobs Design Showcase, Spring 2023 Edition

If you are enrolled in a DES INV course, you are likely mid-stream in prepping for showing and sharing May 3-5 at the Jacobs Design Showcase. If you are NOT busy preparing, then you should be PLANNING your Showcase experience!

17 DES INV Courses + clubs, faculty and independent makers will be showing their projects, prototypes and research—many of which are interactive and kinetic.

Tell your friends and make a gallery outing of it! RSVP here for your free tickets.

Applications for DES INV 190-15/290-15: Designing Digital Sustainability Now Open!

In collaboration with BMW Group Technology Office USA, Designing Digital Sustainability investigates how digital products and services can positively influence consumer’s behavior and sustainability practices. The course builds on key insights from the summer research program on techniques and approaches that the consumer electronics industry takes towards improving user behavior in the realm of digital sustainability.

This course is open to upper-division undergraduate students and graduate students by application. Application deadline: May 12, 2023. Acceptance announcement to be made by the end of May.

Remove materials from studios and makerspace

This is an early reminder that all Jacobs Hall users must remove their materials from Jacobs Hall maker spaces and teaching studios by the end of the semester: Friday, May 12th at 7pm. It is important that our team has the opportunity to reset the space for our summer session activities, so we cannot allow for between-semester storage of materials or projects in any of our teaching or maker spaces.
