Hello Jacobs Community!

I hope you had a great week off and are feeling rested and ready to finish out the remainder of the semester. Here is an overview of the events and opportunities at Jacobs for the upcoming week and beyond, as well as some reminders and deadlines from my previous email. We hope you'll join us for this week's workshop with Jacobs Design Fellow, Zahin Ali, and James Zhou—both from IDEO, Chicago; as well as our Design Field Notes conversation with Jacobs alumna, Tatiana Jansen.

Storytelling Through Your Design Portfolio, Workshop with Zahin Ali + James Zhou
Friday, April 2 • 3-4 PM PST

Join Zahin Ali and James Zhou, both Senior Interaction Designers at IDEO Chicago, as they share their advice about effective storytelling through design portfolios. They will cover best practices for articulating your point of view as a designer, beyond the cookie-cutter methods of documenting project processes. They will also speak about the experience of working as an interaction designer/project member at IDEO and future directions that they see the design firm taking. This workshop is open to all Berkeley students who are interested in storytelling, design portfolio development, or design careers. Zahin is also available as a resource to all students in his role as a Jacobs Design Fellow

And while we're on the topic of workshops...we are in the final month of our ongoing virtual workshops, led by our Design Specialists. If you have been hoping to dive deeper into Rhino or Fusion 360, we encourage you to use this opportunity to work closely with our team on a weekly project. No previous experience is required, and each week's workshop hosts a new project-—join as many as you'd like and leave each workshop with a new skill and project! Visit the virtual workshops page to learn more and register.
