As we are preparing to start the fall semester, here are some great opportunities to get involved in, including a PSA about renewing your free student Adobe Creative Cloud licenses, an open house, and several part-time student roles.

General Opportunities

Reminder: Request a new Adobe Creative Cloud license starting Aug. 1

Fill out the license request form on the Adobe Software Webpage. All licenses requested will be granted and activated on August 14. After this date, it may take 2-4 hours for your license to process before you can begin using Adobe products. This process must be renewed every year to continue using the software.          


For any questions or difficulties, support is available in-person, by phone, or via email from Student Technology Services.                



Events 

BCNM Open House on Wednesday, September 7th!

BCNM will be hosting its annual open house in the BCNM Commons on Wednesday, September 7th from 5:30-7:30 pm. Some topics of conversation will include updates on their Indigenous Technologies program, working groups to get involved with, and hearing from Gail de Kosnik in her last year of the BCNM Directorship. Snacks and light refreshments will be served!

Career 

Creative Discovery Internship Program 

Check out the various internship programs hosted by Berkeley discovery in partnership with art of writing and cal performances. Students will enroll in HUM 197 to receive credit for their internship and will receive a reward of $3,000 per semester.

Year on Angel Island: URAP Media Team 

Fall 2022 Undergraduate Research Apprentices needed for A Year on Angel Island: Immigration Futures Histories. A series of music and dance performances, exhibitions, public conversations, and courses using Angel Island’s historic immigration station will cover important global issues. Students are needed to help capture and archive the events connected to the Project.

Effective Altruism at UC Berkeley Marketing Role

The Effective Altruism at UC Berkeley student organization is looking for a part-time paid marketing specialist. The commitment is ~2-5 hours per week with an hourly pay of $20/hour. Responsibilities include managing the organization's social media platforms (Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook), creating graphics, and creating a content calendar.

Web3 Design Project Paid User Research

A startup is currently working on an AR social app where you can choose and customize your avatar to host parties, play games and meet people. 


To improve the product they are conducting a series of 1-hour paid research sessions with early users. If you are interested in joining follow the discord link.
