Dear GMS community,
We hope that this note finds you well as we wrap up the year! Attached you’ll find the Global Metropolitan Studies (GMS) Annual Report for the 2022-23 academic year. We hope you enjoy our recap of the past year, as well as reading about the accomplishments of our incredible DE students, alums, and faculty. We sincerely thank you for your engagement and contributions to GMS. A special shout out to GSAO Eva Seto and GSR Beki McElvain, who have provided invaluable support in administering GMS programming and awards. With Joan Walker wrapping up her co-director term and taking over as CEE chair and Desiree Fields headed to the Swedish Collegium for Advanced Study for sabbatical, we also welcome core faculty member Sai Balakrishan (DCRP) as co-director and faculty affiliate Anna Brand (LAEP) as interim co-director.

Our best to you all for a rejuvenating and productive summer, and we’ll see you in the Fall.
warmly,
Desiree and Joan
