Marta González wins 2024 Lagrange-CRT Foundation Prize

The 2024 Lagrange-CRT Foundation Prize was awarded to GMS Affiliate faculty member Marta González (Associate Professor, City and Regional Planning). The award recognizes outstanding contributions relevant to the progress of complexity science.
 

NSF Smart and Connected Communities program Informational Webinar

The Smart and Connected Communities (S&CC) program will be hosting a 90-minute informational webinar for its new solicitation and call for proposals on January 24th from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM ET. The webinar will be recorded and made available for viewing.

RESEARCH SPOTLIGHT

Latin American Cities Research Group

 

GMS is pleased to provide financial and organizational support to the Latin American Cities Research Group.  This student group, (comprised of DE students Isabel Penaranda Currie, Flavia Leite, Coral del Mar Murphy Marcos, Andrea Lara Garcia), meets regularly to discuss the urban experience in Latin America.  They also publish the widely-distributed Sur-Urbano podcast. Episodes cover urban topics as diverse as bicycle lanes (ciclovías) in Bogotá, social housing, and urban real estate development. The podcast includes 42 episodes thus far over 6 seasons thus far, and has 1,934 followers in Spotify. It has been downloaded by individuals in 58 countries!
