Recognizing the Accomplishments of GMS Affiliates
Alison Post and Kenichi Soga

Former GMS Co-Director Alison Post has been awarded two prestigious grants. The first was awarded by the Accountable Institutions and Behavior (AIB) Program from the National Science Foundation. She is the PI for this $350,000 project, entitled “City Size and Public Service Delivery in Comparative Perspective”. The second grant was awarded by the Swedish Research Council. She is the Co-PI for this $1.1 million joint effort with the Governance and Local Development Institute at the University of Gothenburg, entitled "Political Change and Local Governance in Emerging Cities”.

We congratulate Alison on these awards, and look forward to watching her exciting projects evolve!

GMS is very excited to announce that executive committee member Kenichi Soga was recently honored with a prestigious membership to the National Academy of Engineering (NAE).

Members are elected to join the NAE by their peers, and earning a membership is one of the highest professional honors accorded an engineer. Members elected to join the NAE have distinguished themselves in business and academic management, in technical positions, as university faculty, and as leaders in government and private engineering organizations.

Our warmest congratulations to Kenichi!
