Ann Arbor Ultimate is excited to announce Winter League 2025! We will be running two indoor divisions (Wednesdays and Fridays) at the St. Joe's Sports Dome @ EMU!

Our Friday division will be unchanged from previous years, featuring the our Cap-and-Fill format and handling registration on a first-come first-served basis. Based on player feedback, weβre going to run a new format for the Wednesday league!
Wednesdays:
Mixed, 50-50 play: To encourage equitable gender ratios and true mixed play, there will be 24 MMP and 24 WMP spots available in the league.
Registration lottery: Due to the high demand for this division, registrations made during the first 24 hours will be entered into a lottery. 24 woman-matching players and 24 man-matching players will be randomly selected from this pool. This allows those with less flexible schedules or slower electronic devices a chance to register for the division. If either matching group has less than 24 players at the conclusion of the 24 hours, remaining slots will be filled by the appropriate matching group first-come, first-serve based on registration timestamp.
Teams formed via draft: Teams for this division will be drafted by our volunteer captain pairs (ideally 1 WMP + 1 MMP) in early January. If this sounds like fun to you, please indicate your interest during registration!
Bracket play: During the first 6 games, each team will play each other twice (double round robin). The last two weeks will consist of the semi-finals and finals (bracket play).
Fridays:
Registration is offered on a first-come, first-served basis for Fridays. Fridays tend to fill fairly quickly, so we recommend that all players register as early as possible.
This division will run using our Cap-and-Fill format and like previous years, we anticipate that we will be splitting to create two 4-team divisions; one for mixed play and one for open play. Cap-and-Fill has been a regular fixture in our leagues, and Winter has been successful the last two years, and we expect that to continue!

Captaining
Our volunteer captains make Ann Arbor Ultimate possible! Each season, Ann Arbor Ultimate relies on this group to facilitate safe and spirited ultimate and be our eyes and ears on the field. Captains are not expected to be the most experienced, skilled, or knowledgable players; instead we look for players who are enthusiastic about our community and want to give back. If you would like to captain, sign up ASAP and indicate your preference during registration. And mark your calendar for a mandatory captain's meeting on TBA. All captains that fulfill their duties receive compensation of $5/game!
DUFL Winter Wonderland Hat Tournament
Detroit Ultimate Frisbee League will be running an indoor hat tournament at the Trinity Health Sports Dome in Livonia on December 14th!
