Please see note below from post-election working group chair Linda Lamone.
Dear Post-Election Working Group Members ?
Thank you so much for volunteering your time on this important working group. Many of you participated in last week?s introductory call. If you were unable to make the call or would like a refresher, you can download it here.

Our working group will help inform the next generation of the Voluntary Voting System Guidelines (VVSG). We?ll do that by ?
? Documenting the high level steps and processes necessary to conduct all activities after the close of polls on election day.
? Identifying the necessary functionality of election systems needed to administer post election functions.
? Uploading step-by-step procedures used in various jurisdictions to accomplish each process.
To start out, I encourage you to visit and bookmark the TWiki page http://collaborate.nist.gov/voting/bin/view/Voting/PostElection . While you are there, please ?
? Review the useful links section, particularly the ?Getting Started? section.
? Review and compare the post-election processes to those used in your jurisdiction.
? Add to or change the processes.
? Upload your step-by-step procedures that show how you complete the processes.
Please don?t hesitate to contact either Helen Purcell, Megan Dillon from the EAC, or me if you have any questions. If you have a question or comment that could benefit the whole team, use our listserve email vvsg-post...@list.nist.gov.
We really appreciate your participation. If you can only upload one procedure, we?ll take it. Every little bit helps.
Thank you!

Please see message below on behalf of Linda Lamone, Helen Purcell and myself.
I hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving and for those of you that had elections this past November I hope everything is finalized and certified.
I am writing because as of today there has been no activity on our Twiki pages. Now that the election and Thanksgiving are behind us I am hoping you can dedicate a small amount of time to this project over the next few weeks before the holiday season is in full swing.
To get started we are looking for the following from the various participants:
Election Officials ? Any documents, policies, procedures or manuals you are willing to share concerning election day processes. You can simply just load them on the appropriate page and be done if your time is limited or you can further break them down into specific areas at your convenience. Please understand that this is not an all or nothing approach. We appreciate any contribution you are willing to make because every little bit truly helps.
Vendors ? Any overviews, instructions or manuals you are willing to share concerning election day processes as it relates to your products. You can simply just load them on the appropriate page and be done if your time is limited or you can further break them down into specific areas at your convenience. Please understand that this is not an all or nothing approach. We appreciate any contribution you are willing to make because every little bit truly helps.
Interested Parties ? Any observations, suggestions or articles you may have written or seen that you are willing to share concerning election day processes will be extremely helpful to this overall project. You can simply just load them on the appropriate page and be done if your time is limited or you can further break them down into specific areas at your convenience. Please understand that this is not an all or nothing approach. We appreciate any contribution you are willing to make because every little bit truly helps.
I know we are all very busy but I cannot stress enough the importance of this first step in the process of creating a new set of Voluntary Voting System Guidelines. We as an election community have been given the unique opportunity to have our voices heard at the beginning of the process which will then carry through the entire process as opposed to just being asked for comments after a finished product is released. Let?s not waste this opportunity.
