On behalf of the European Association for Biometrics (EAB), NIST is pleased to announce that free registration is open for EAB's
Workshop on Fingerprint Image Quality. This workshop is
co-sponsored by NIST, the European Union Agency for the Operational Management of Large-Scale IT Systems in the Area of Freedom, Security and Justice (eu-LISA), and the ISO/IEC JTC1 SC37 working group 3.
This update will address the current production status of NIST Fingerprint Image Quality (NFIQ) 2.1, experiences from stakeholders, and the introduction of training concepts and tools to retrain NFIQ 2 for fingerprint images captured with non-optical/non-inked
sources. NIST and the ISO/IEC SC37 WG3 are dedicated to adapt and promote NFIQ 2 for large scale biometric systems.
The workshop is aimed at a wide range of stakeholders including industrial and governmental developers, end-users of biometric systems, researchers, academics and post-graduate students, and policy makers.
The workshop will take place on
15 June 2021 and 16 June 2021 on EAB's virtual platform. The event is free for all participants, but registration is required. Read more about the workshop and register at:
