Happy Data Privacy Day from NIST’s Privacy Engineering Program!

Dear Colleagues,

Happy Data Privacy Day! This annual celebration provides an opportunity for our Privacy Engineering Program (PEP) to reflect on our work over the past year and look ahead to future work as we continue to create frameworks, guidelines, tools and other resources to support trustworthy information systems.

NIST PEP highlights from this past year include:

• The release of new Privacy Framework 1.0 resources, including Quick Start Guide translations, a crosswalk, and a privacy threat modeling tool
• A public workshop to inform our NIST Privacy Framework update to Version 1.1 and gather insights for our integrated NIST frameworks Data Governance and Management (DGM) Profile
• An initial Working Session to develop DGM Profile activities
• The release of the NIST Privacy Workforce Taxonomy, Initial Public Draft for stakeholder feedback

There is also much to look forward to this year, including:

• The anticipated release of NIST Privacy Framework 1.1 Initial Public Draft and the Privacy Workforce Taxonomy 1.0
• A DGM Profile Working Session 2 to develop Profile mappings and discussions
