Hi,

The "Post-Quantum Cryptography: Government–Industry Dialogue" side meeting in Bangkok was greatly appreciated by both government and industry participants. As a follow-up, Alexander Engström (Swedish NCSC) and I, John Preuß Mattsson (Ericsson), are organizing another session during the IETF meeting in Vienna on July 23.

Post-Quantum Cryptography: Government–Industry Dialogue

The transition to Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC) presents significant technical, operational, and strategic challenges. This side meeting will bring together government and industry stakeholders to discuss PQC migration timelines, priorities, technical solutions, deployment experiences, standards maturity, security considerations, risks, and costs. Several government organizations will present their recent work on PQC timelines and technical recommendations, providing a basis for an open dialogue with industry on challenges, lessons learned, and opportunities for collaboration during the transition to PQC.

Hi Arvin,

That is out of scope for this side meeting. IACR ePrint, arXiv, cryptography conferences, CFRG, and this mailing list all seem like more appropriate venues for discussions of new cryptographic algorithms and new computational hardness assumptions.

Hi,

Thanks to everyone who participated in the side meeting! The meeting was a great success, with well over 100 participants from governments, industry, and academia from around the world.

The goal of the meeting was to foster open dialogue and mutual understanding between technical experts and government representatives regarding the transition to post-quantum cryptography (PQC). Participants from the EU, Sweden, the UK, the US, Canada, Japan, and Australia presented their respective PQC migration plans. We expect to organize follow-up meetings in the future.

The first 60 minutes of the meeting were recorded. The recording, transcript, and slides are now available [1–2].
