What has changed

The 2.0 APIs have exited the open beta, thus deprecating the 1.0 APIs.  Deprecated APIs do not receive updates or product support.

Upcoming changes

In March of 2023, the NVD plans to retire its RSS data feeds and to end its support for web scraping.  Accompanying the latter changes, the NVD will apply a frictionless reCAPTCHA across all of its web content.  Prior to the release of the 2.0 APIs, there was a small amount of data like the CVE Change History that could only be retrieved on a CVE details page—this changed with the release of the CVE Change History API and new parameters for the 2.0 API that allow for more granular queries.

Actions you should take

All new and existing users should read the popular workflows, the transition guide, and change timeline posted to the NVD news page.

We want to know if you encounter an issue with the new APIs or if you are confused about how to solve a unique problem. Please share your user stories with n...@nist.gov. Please ensure each user story includes a description of what you are looking to do (your what) and the problem you are looking to solve (your why). Please note, while the NVD looks forward to providing you with clear and valuable resources, the NVD does not currently provide code snippets in any language or code reviews for any user group. The NVD also does not endorse any code base, repository, user agent, or third-party platforms.

Actions you must take

All new users, as well as existing users whose workflows include web scraping tools, the legacy data feeds, or the 1.0 APIs, must transition to the updated APIs to continue to get NVD data without interruption.
