Dear threshold cryptography friends,

We are pleased to announce today's publication of NIST IR 8214C ipd: the initial public draft (ipd) of the NIST First Call for Multi-Party Threshold schemes.

Please note in particular the scope organized into two categories:
- Cat1: selected NIST-specified primitives.
- Cat2: other primitives not specified by NIST.

Constructive public comments about the upcoming call are encouraged to be sent to this forum. Additionally, comments intended for direct consideration during the preparation of the final version of the call (and to be included in a future compilation of comments about NIST IR 8214C) should be sent by email to nistir-8214C-comments (at) nist (dot) gov, by April 10 (preferably sooner).

Thank you in advance for your attention and collaboration!

Gentle reminder: public feedback on the NIST First Call for Multi-Party Threshold Schemes (Initial Public Draft) [NISTIR 8214C ipd] is welcome by April 10th, 2023. Please send your comments via email to "nistir-8214c-comments (at) nist (dot) gov".

- Publication CSRC page: https://csrc.nist.gov/publications/detail/nistir/8214c/draft
- Optional feedback template (docx): https://csrc.nist.gov/csrc/media/publications/nistir/8214c/draft/documents/nistir-8214c-ipd-comment-template.docx

A compilation with received public feedback will later be made available online.

Here are some other suggested topics of useful feedback about any particular primitive within the scope of the call:
- Application use-cases for the primitive and corresponding threshold schemes.
- Notes on (in)compatibility between threshold-friendliness, quantum-resistance and/or advanced features
- Security properties, security formulations, and cryptographic assumptions relevant to consider or recommend, as well as related cautionary recommendations.

Thank you in advance for the feedback.
