Dear Colleagues,
I have installed an additional time server at WWV. Its name is
time-f.nist.gov and its IP address is 132.163.97.8. It does not have an IPv6 address. It is based on FPGA hardware and should be more reliable than the other systems, which use commercial server hardware.
The new system supports only standard NTP requests. It does not understand time, daytime, or authenticated requests.
The other systems will continue to operate normally and support the other types of requests -- TIME, DAYTIME, and Authenticated NTP.
Please let me know if you have questions or problems.
Best wishes,
Judah Levine
