Hello NIST fingerprint data community,

We are now distributing "pre-release" versions of Special Database (SD) 302g, 302h, and 302i [1]. These databases contain Electronic Biometric Transmission Specification versions of exemplars and latent fingerprints annotated to Extended Feature Set Profile 2, along with minutiae correspondence to help establish ground truth latent positions. These databases are pre-release because they do not contain all subjects from SD 302. The annotation process is ongoing and new data from missing subjects will be released every few months. You can read about the dataset in NIST Technical Note 2190 [2].

Along with these new datasets, errata from SD 302e has been corrected in new downloads of SD 302e. The list of errata is available on our website [3] and a smaller update is available to bring existing downloads of SD 302e up to date.

We have also updated the NIST Fingerprint Image Quality (NFIQ) 2 conformance dataset [4]. This was necessary after bug fixes resulting in NFIQ 2.2's slightly changed scoring made it such that the conformance dataset no longer represented as many unified quality score values from 0-100 as possible.

Finally, our datasets are now released under more liberal terms and conditions. I'm not a lawyer, so please review the new terms and conditions yourself for complete details.

Thanks,
-Greg (@nist.gov)
