Hello Contam Users,

I hope you are all doing well.
I have prepared a CVF file to control the opening time of an airflow path (Window). The window airflow element is a typical element repeatedly used in the project.
When I run the simulation, it gives me the attached screenshot.

Is there a specific reason why this happens?

Please search the group for “CVF” to find a sample CVF file.
As indicated in the CVF Format specification, each column in the CVF is associated with a “node name” a set of which is provided at the beginning of the CVF.
I’ve attached an example PRJ using both CVF and DVF files.

Thank You for your email, Stuart.
I have managed to control the opening of windows during a specified timeframe. However, is there a way I can control the window opening when outdoor temperatures are between 23-25 degrees? Does this require the node defined in the CVF file to represent temperatures, not fractions?

Kind Regards,

Hi Tha’er,

You could use controls to perform this action.
You can sense the outdoor temperature of an ambient zone icon, create desired control logic, name the resulting output node, and reference that node as phantom control nodes for each window you want to control.

The attached PRJ and accompanying input file may not be exactly what you are looking for, but it gives you an idea of how to use controls.
This example senses the outdoor temperature and sets the indoor temperature according to Heating and Cooling setpoints.
This example is simply meant to demonstrate the ability with a hypothetical weather file.
