Hello everyone,

I am currently running CONTAM simulations from Python using contamxpy, where I change various parameters programmatically.

Modifying CVF files works without any issues and the changes are properly reflected in the simulation results. However, I noticed that when I modify values in the .prj file, the changes do not seem to be applied.

For example, if I open the .prj file with a text editor (not the GUI), change the leakage values, save the file, and then run the simulation, the updated values are not reflected in the results.

Has anyone experienced a similar issue, or does anyone know why changes made directly to the .prj file might not be applied?

Thank you in advance.

SB,
Without knowing exactly what it is you're changing in the PRJ file, I would have to guess that you are not changing the turbulent and/or laminar flow coefficients.

These are the values that ultimately determine the pressure/flow relationship used by ContamX during simulations. You can reverse engineer the values using ContamW as follows: modify the leakage element via ContamW, save the PRJ with a new name, and compare the original and modified PRJs via a diff tool like WinMerge. Then you could use a parametric tool (either your own or that provided by NIST here) to modify the PRJs as desired.
