Dear Colleagues,

We have officially completed Phase I of the Privacy Workforce Working Group (PWWG). Thank you to all who participated, and special thanks to those who contributed to our 11 Project Teams, including our outstanding Project Team Leads. Your collective expertise and commitment have made this endeavor a success. Please give yourselves a well-earned pat on the back for your contributions!

Three years have passed since the PWWG launch. Here are a few fun facts to capture the breadth and depth of our work:

  • 34 monthly meetings
  • 172 Project Team meetings
  • 27 Project Team Leads
  • 70 Privacy Framework Subcategories
  • 1,020 Task, Knowledge, and Skill (TKS) Statements

During today’s monthly meeting, we discussed details of the upcoming Privacy Workforce Taxonomy Initial Public Draft (IPD). If you were unable to attend, please check out the meeting minutes and slide deck on the PWWG website.

We anticipate releasing the IPD in the very near future for public comment. At that time, the IPD and comment template will be made available for download from the Workforce Advancement section of the NIST Privacy Framework website. We will announce the IPD release to the public via the NIST Privacy Framework mailing list as well as the PWWG mailing list. If you haven’t subscribed to the Privacy Framework mailing list, please do so by sending an email to PrivacyFramew...@list.nist.gov.

Today’s PWWG meeting is the last monthly meeting for Phase I of the PWWG. All project teams are completed and closed. The PWWG will go on a brief hiatus while Phase 2 is being formalized. Any updates will be communicated through the PWWG group mailing list. We hope you will continue to participate in the PWWG. However, you can unsubscribe from this group by sending an email to PrivacyWorkforc...@list.nist.gov.

Many thanks again to all and keep an eye out for the imminent release of the Privacy Workforce Taxonomy Initial Public Draft!

Sincerely,

The PWWG Team
