Feature request: Clear unused tags?

I am using the Hypothesis chrome plugin and once made a useless tag. I deleted the only annotation that used the tag, but now that popped up every time I typed something into the tagging screen. Can it be made so that unused tags are forgotten?

Tags are remembered in the browser's localStorage, and can be edited (or removed) there. The procedure for accessing localStorage varies according to browser, in Chrome it's in the Application tab in the debugger.
