How to setup Debug environment for the client?

Environment:
OS: WSL2-ubuntu through windows
Editor: Visual Studio Code
Would some one help me how to setup debugger for the client.
If possible, with VS Code itself.
I'm looking to make changes to the client.
Have knowledge in JavaScript, Nodejs (to some extent)
