Eelteade: juuni lõpus avaneb NordForski taotlusvoor toidujulgeoleku teemal „Nordic and Baltic solutions on food security“

2026. a juuni teises pooles avaneb Põhjamaade ja Balti riikide ühine teadus- ja arendusprojektide taotlusvoor, mille fookuses on toidujulgeoleku parandamine regioonis.

Kliimamuutused, geopoliitiline ebastabiilsus ning globaalse kaubanduse ja koostöö häired mõjutavad otseselt toidusüsteemide toimimist, mistõttu vajavad nii poliitikakujundajad kui ka toidusektori osapooled senisest rohkem teaduslikku sisendit.

Taotlusvoorus osalejad peavad valima vähemalt ühe allpool toodud alateema:

1.     1. Cross‑border preparedness and crisis response in food systems

2.     2. Infrastructure, logistics, and support systems for food security

3.     3. Consumer behaviour and increased use of Nordic and Baltic produced food

Taotlusvooruga soovitakse rõhutada nii süsteemitasandi kui ka üksikosapoolte rolli toidujulgeoleku arendamisel ning tuua esile füüsiliste, institutsionaalsete ja ühiskondlike tegurite omavaheline mõju. Rahastatavatelt projektidelt oodatakse praktilisi lahendusi ja teadmisi, mis aitaksid pikemas perspektiivis tugevdada Põhja- ja Baltimaade toidusüsteemide kestlikkust, kriisivalmidust ja vastupidavust.

Taotlusvoorus osalevad rahastajatena Norra, Rootsi, Soome, Island, Fääri saared, Eesti ja Leedu ning Põhjamaade koostööorganisatsioon NordForsk.

Eesti osalejaid rahastab Eesti Teadusagentuur (ETAG) summas 150 000 eurot (tava projektipartner) või 300 000 eurot (koordinaator) projekti kohta – ka juhul, kui ühes projektis on mitu Eesti partnerit. Kui taotlusvoorus on mitu Eesti partnerit, siis kõik peavad vastama Eesti riiklikele PI nõuetele.

Pre-announcement: NordForsk call “Nordic and Baltic Solutions on Food Security” to open in late June

A new joint call for proposals by the Nordic and Baltic countries will open in the second half of June 2026, focusing on strengthening food security across the region.

Food systems are under growing pressure from climate change, geopolitical tensions, and disruptions in global trade and co-operation. These developments highlight the increasing need for research-based knowledge to support both policymakers and stakeholders across the food sector.

Applicants must address at least one of the following themes:

1. Cross‑border preparedness and crisis response in food systems
2. Infrastructure, logistics, and support systems for food security
3. Consumer behaviour and increased use of Nordic and Baltic produced food

The call aims to highlight both system-level and actor-level roles in developing food security, as well as the interaction between physical, institutional, and societal factors. Funded projects are expected to deliver practical solutions and knowledge that will strengthen the long-term sustainability, crisis preparedness, and resilience of food systems in the Nordic and Baltic region.

The funding partners in this call are Norway, Sweden, Finland, Iceland, the Faroe Islands, Estonia, Lithuania, and NordForsk.

Estonian partner(s) in a successful project will be funded by the Estonian Research Council (ETAG). The maximum requested budget for the Estonian partner(s) participating in one project, if all Estonian partners participate as regular partners, is 150 000€ per project. If the Project Leader/Coordinator is from an Estonian research organisation, the requested budget for the Estonian sub-project may be up to 300 000€. If several Estonian partners participate in a project coordinated by an Estonian partner, the maximum requested budget of all Estonian partners in the project is still 300 000€. All Estonian participants must meet the national PI criteria.
