Hello LUG folks, I'm a former member of the LUG at UCLA and was
wondering if you could help me recover access to my account. I'm most
interested in files I had left on our old shell server at the time
(uranium, an Itanium server). If you could also help me recover access
to my email that would also be great.

My username was mikeryan. I'm fairly certain I know my old SSH password
but it doesn't seem to work anymore.

Any help you can give would be great, thanks!

Was there a response on this? I have the same question for the “snotty” account =)

If there’s an FTP or SSH we can use to download the home directories that would also work.

Thanks,

Mike

Sorry for the delay,

It is still summer break so most of our officers are not in LA right now. The NFS server, and in fact most of our core services, is down ever since our move out of the club room and it will take us a while to bring it back online. I don't have an ETA for you and because I don't have access to where our hardware is stored during the summer. You'll have to bear with us in the meantime.

Quoting Mike Ryan (2018-08-13 08:35:50)
Infos for the current officers:

"uranium, an Itanium server" sounds really old, before my time at LUG.
We had migrated some user homedirs onto "bluffdale", the NFS server
running on an HP 2U server (also before my time), which may have
included your account mikeryan.

how do we get ssh access to bluffdale? we used to be able to ssh to Linux.ucla.edu which had the NFS home folders mounted.

Someone who has access to the servers (which I guess are in UCLA racks) can check LDAP and help him recover...LDAP was on losangeles vm, right?
