Happy new years folks!

I'm one of the original founding members of the UCLA LUG (going back to '97 now) - I'm trying to set up Minecraft Education edition for the neighborhood kids and was wondering if I could either:
#1 - get a few email accounts on the @linux.ucla.edu domain (which I assume will then get UCLA LUG gmail working (painful for the admins) OR
#2 - get a subdomain that I can control like (me.linux.ucla.edu) so that I can control that DNS, set up a domain and create some user accounts there (easy for the admins and I can own the future work of account management)

Any of the Admins willing to help me in this endeavor?

Thanks,
Mike (aka snotty)

Mike,

Random aside: I'm not sure if the independent user/mailbox control was an explicit goal, but Gmail does facilitate "plus addressing;" I just sent myself an email to jima+...@linux.ucla.edu and it arrived just fine.

I have no idea how viable either of your suggestions is -- I know the rules have never been TOTALLY strict about who qualified for accounts -- but figured I'd bring up a hack-around.

Well, it was a good thought and idea, but no cigar - while the email tag works, Minecraft EE needs an identity based on that email where "+" email addresses are not accepted. Back to #1 or #2

Any of the admins open to helping?

Thanks,

Mike
