Hi all,--LUG will move out of Boelter 3820 by the end of this Friday (Jan 19th). This is an unfortunate situation forced upon us by the moving of cs department into the new Engineering VI building, and we have been given a really short notice. So farewell, our beloved lounge. Also, since we have not been assigned a new room by cs/engineering department, our servers will be offline for an unknown amount of time. That includes linux.ucla.edu, ssh service, and everything within the 131.179.104.40/24 subnet. As always, we are still active on our mailing list as this is our main point of contact as of this point. As a result, we will be shutting down our servers in the next few days, so please backup your data within the next 24 hours or so. But don't worry, we have all your data backed up, so shout out here if you need to recover anything.I know this is a hard situation and I am very unfortunate to be the president that has to witness this happen, but rest assured, LUG is still very alive. We will pull ourselves together once we have something close to a permanent club space.Best,Colin Yang

Just throwing something out there, but who owns the decision to provide UCLA LUG space – I can drop a note to them to see if we can move things along.
Separately, are folks interested in hosting a reasonably sized Linux VM or if the PHP to the website can be provided to me, I can spin it up in Microsoft Azure on my own account so that Linux.ucla.edu at least can be redirected to that site.
I moved about 5 months ago to Singapore to lead Cloud Enterprise for Microsoft in APAC from the US. We ingest more Linux machines than Windows machines these days and have dedicated OSS leads on my team and just launched SQL on Linux and have a bunch of deals in Korea =)
Thanks,
Mike

Possible solution. Make LUG a frat and get a house.
