Description: As part of the D|MA IT team, you'll be responsible for the
upkeep of both mac and pc clients in a lab environment. Expect to spend
time installing and testing lots of software (especially Adobe programs) on
a variety of hardware and operating systems mixtures, testing and upgrading
hardware (disks, monitors, video cards), creating and documenting
procedures, and writting small scripts.
The ideal candidate should have a genuine interest in new technologies and
an ability to go out and learn how to do accomplish a new task when called
upon to do so. The position is often unsupervised and the ideal candidate
will be good at finding out what needs to be done and being resourceful in
solving problems. We offer a very relaxed working environment, flexible
hours, and training
Essential Skills:
- advanced knowledge of operating system administration
- hands-on hardware troubleshooting experience
- conceptual understanding of networking (routing, dns, etc)
- ability to write simple scripts
Desirable Skills:
- knowledge of different filesystems
- familiarity with linux
- extensive command-line usage
- structured programming experience
- experience with PXE and EFI
- exposure to LDAP
