Good morning colleagues,
The countdown is on! There's just one week until the Long Island Library Conference on Thursday, May 14, 2026, at the Melville Marriott.
If you haven’t registered yet, the $195 day-of rate is available on Eventbrite now through May 12. Registration will reopen on-site on May 14, and payment can be made in cash or by credit card on the day of the conference.
Here are a few more of the programs you can experience:
• A Conversation with Tiffany D. Jackson:  A dynamic discussion with the bestselling author on storytelling and connecting with readers
Retro Rewind: Video Games & Vintage Tech for Libraries: Creative programming ideas using retro technology
• Planning & Building for Safety at Your Public Library: Practical approaches to emergency preparedness and safer spaces
• Welcoming for All: Facilities Design and ADA: Creating inclusive, accessible environments through thoughtful design
• Improving Customer Service Skills for Library Staff: Real-world strategies for navigating daily challenges
• The Island Trees Book Banning Case: 50+ Years Later: A timely look at intellectual freedom and Long Island history
We’re also looking forward to welcoming keynote speaker Jamar Rahming, who will offer insights on leadership and community engagement.
Don’t wait to secure your spot, and we look forward to seeing you on May 14.
