Hi All,

Congrats on the new kamanja 1.2 release. Wanted to ask if there are plans of incorporating application security controls on the roadmap of kamanja?

Thanks

What you mean application security controls? Please elaborate the functionality that you envision for this feature.

The feature that i envision is to have security in place to have restrictions for associates to access certain models and not all. Also, have access controls to separate out admin user role vs modeler etc.

Should we add this as a feature request?

Hi Saaim,
Do you means Metadata  Authentication/ Authorization (access control) - so a given user can/can’t CRUD metadata.

That's correct! Along the lines of access controls for metadata, models etc.

Hi Saaim,

There is a security adapter in metadata, but at this point its extremely simple, kind of like a proof of concept (we have an example of simple Shiro, and Kerberos)..  This kind of depends on what the client wants to use for security, if they have an existing security infrastructure..

Both Shiro and Kerberos will need to be enhanced, or if they are using a different system, a new adapter will need to be implemented.

This is security feature on roadmap, but we haven't defined timeline.
